Event & Partnership Manager – Erin Burke
[Carlie]: Why did you want to work for Big Brothers Big Sisters?
[Erin]: I was looking to return to nonprofit work, and had heard lots of great things about the work and organizational culture of BBBS. I really value the mentors I have in my life and appreciate the opportunity to work for an organization that helps young people find positive mentoring relationships.
[Carlie]: What’s been your favorite part of BBBS so far?
[Erin]: Getting busy with work right away! Everyone on the BBBS team has been very friendly and helpful as I learn this new position. I’m glad I got to start on the same day as Emma!
[Carlie]: What are you most looking forward to in summer?
[Erin]: My new adventures this summer are training for a sprint triathlon and teaching SUP yoga, so I’m looking forward to lots of time outside. And of course Fore Potential and Bowl for Kids’ Sake.
Marketing & Outreach Manager – Emma Steeve
[Carlie]: Why did you want to work for Big Brothers Big Sisters?
[Emma]: Ever since becoming a Big Sister in 2021, I've always had a special place in my heart for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands. The impact that they have on youth in our community and their stellar reputation as a nonprofit is admirable. It was an opportunity for me to combine work interests with personal passions.
[Carlie]: What’s been your favorite part of BBBS so far?
[Emma]: The best part for me has been getting to know the folks behind the nonprofit. Each staff member has a passion for youth and helping youth in our community reach their full potential. You can tell that the organization as a whole is one big family that does such a great job utilizing each other's strengths in order to best serve families, Littles, Bigs, and donors.
[Carlie]: What are you most looking forward to in summer?
[Emma]: I am looking forward to nice weather, traveling, and doing fun outdoor activities with family and friends.
